What keeps you busy outside the office?
Keeping fit, socialising with friends and family, and staying involved in the local community.

What is your top tip for sellers?
Choose an agent who understands both the market and your goals, clear communication and a strong strategy are key.

Abi Ball MNAEA Operations / Sales

Abi is a friendly, approachable and hard working member of the team who is dedicated to great customer service. Having grown up in Tavistock, her knowledge of our local area is superb, and she is passionate about Devon and all it has to offer.

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
For me it's all about the people! We have a great team, and working alongside them every day to look after our clients and buyers, as well as liaising with the other professionals we work with to progress a sale from offer to handing over the keys is really enjoyable.

What keeps you busy outside the office?
I have many creative hobbies and love to be busy baking, crafting, sewing, walking on Dartmoor, or spending time in the garden. I also love time away in our recently converted camper van with my husband and our dog Nellie.
What is your top tip for sellers?

Choose an agent and a solicitor who you trust and feel happy working with...after all they are the ones who will progress your sale from offer to completion and you need to be confident that they will work hard for you and get the job done.

Barry Hutton Sales & Operations Administrator

Barry is an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who has over 25 years of experience interacting with customers and has very strong customer service skills. He has worked in varied roles in the past but has a can-do attitude and makes sure the customer is at the heart of everything he does.

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
I absolutely love interacting with and supporting our customers by going above and beyond every time. I enjoy making sure that we show each home at its best through the property brochure.

What keeps you busy outside the office?
Outside of the office, I keep myself busy by spending time with family. I am very keen on cooking so I like to cook for my family when I get the chance.  I’m a passionate sports fan so I watch as much sport as I can and enjoy coaching a youth football team.

What is your top tip for sellers?
We have an excellent and caring team here at Miller Town & Country, so trust that we have your best interest at heart and will do everything to make the process smooth and simple.

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
I really enjoy meeting new people and my favourite part of the role is when someone realises, they have just walked in to their new home!

What keeps you busy outside the office?
I have a very busy family life and so just love it when we all get a chance to spend a day together at the beach or walking on the moors.

What is your top tip for sellers?
My top tip for sellers is just take a leap of faith and trust in your instincts. You are in control!

Carolyn Hamblen Sales Negotiator

Carolyn is a friendly and empathetic member of our Okehampton team who supports our customers on a Saturday through viewings, answering enquiries and sharing our latest new properties!

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
There are many aspects of my job I enjoy but one of my favourites is the moment we launch a new property to the market.  This allows me the opportunity to share it with our VIP buyers who are looking for a similar home, and in the process get to know them better, develop an understanding of their needs and wants for their new home, as well as have some lovely conversations!

What keeps you busy outside the office?
Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our ever-faithful dog (and sometimes even our cat!) and engaging in a sewing project when opportunity or time allows.

What is your top tip for sellers?
In the search for your next home, consider the flexibility of requirements at the beginning of your search rather than compromising later – thus avoiding missing properties at the beginning of the search which could actually be the perfect property for you.  We are all naturally influenced by photographs but try to keep an open mind and explore how a home might be able to meet your needs.

Dee Hobbins Sales & Finance Administrator

Experienced administrator who understands the importance of good service and customer care.  A homebird who enjoys being with family, baking, jigsaws and reading but also going to the cinema and walking.

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?

I love preparing the office brochures to show the very best of a property and the happiness of our clients on completion.

What keeps you busy outside the office?

Outside the office I love receiving the photos and videos of my grandchildren or better still visiting them, or time out enjoying a coffee and ice cream.

What is your top tip for sellers?

Listen to the advice of your estate agent.

Jackie O'Leary Sales Negotiator

Jackie has been involved with Estate Agency throughout her career and for the past 9 years in Tavistock. She supports the Tavistock team by keeping the office running smoothly on a Saturday

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
Being able to keep in touch with the property world by working with the friendly and professional team at Miller TC is very important to me. It enables me to keep alive my passion for property and to draw on years of life and estate agency experience and to meet some lovely people in the process.

What keeps you busy outside the office?
I am a passionate gardener spending most of my time planning, planting, pruning and digging ! I also love the art of design and am always working out how to improve and enhance interiors. Dogs also play an important part of providing a happy life with a weekly Zumba class thrown in!

What is your top tip for sellers?
Its important to make a good first impression.  Ensure a tidy, weed-free front entrance area with a clean front door and windows, as well as a splash of colour with a few planted pots.  Make sure your home is well aired, add some fresh flowers, and please, put the toilet seat and lid down!

Matthew Miller Sales Negotiator

Matt is a West Country boy through and through who started his career in the early 1980s and still loves coming to work every day. He has covered most of Devon and Cornwall over this time and loves both counties as they offer so very much. He has a passion for property but feels strongly that it is the people behind each transaction that make his role so emotionally rewarding.

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?

My favourite parts of the job are valuations and viewings as well as building relationships with clients, many of which have become great friends over the years. As I have always advocated, clients are for life, not just for one transaction, and it is, therefore, critical we do the best we can every day, for everyone, we are working with. The responsibility we have to find the right buyer and/or the right home for our clients and caring enough to look after them along the way is what keeps the job interesting.
Three generations in, this still seems to ring true with so many people we deal with!  I also love working with an established team. We are like one big happy family and certainly, I would not have had the levels of success I have enjoyed, without being surrounded by so many amazing people over the years.

What keeps you busy outside the office?

I love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking on the moors or along the coastline, surfing, swimming, or out on my bike. To be fair I have recently treated myself to an electric one but do generally try to only use the booster bit if I really need it. (honest)

What is your top tip for sellers?

Be objective and listen to your head as well as your heart. The market fluctuates up and down periodically, but in the long run, property remains a great investment. After 40 years which has gone in a blink of an eye, the cottages I started selling for £5,000 are now nearer £200,000 or more. But we have a responsibility always, to try to give honest and sound advice based on market conditions. The cheapest agent is not the one charging the least, it is the one that sells your home for the most!! The fee you pay is your marketing budget so it’s often wiser to invest more up front and get a better return.

Sally Collings MNAEA Tavistock Branch Manager

Sally has been an estate agent, covering all aspects of the process for nearly 20 years and has sold houses in Devon, Cornwall, The South Hams and Surrey. Tavistock is such a great town with so much going on and she still gets excited about helping people with their moves.  Sometimes she has even been known to happy dance around the office, particularly when we have positive feedback from happy clients! Those are the best days!

What’s your favourite part of your role at MTC?
I love the feeling of going the extra mile to help people where others have not to bring complicated situations to a successful conclusion… and my collegues are pretty great to work with too.

What keeps you busy outside the office?
Anything to do with the theatre and I’m there. Whether it be watching, performing or helping out backstage. It helps keep the extrovert in me in check! Live performance is where it’s at!

What is your top tip for sellers?
Trust the process, and trust us as your agent. Carefully consider any advice given as we have likely dealt with most situations within most markets and often discuss together as a team.
